Astana Wins BRICS Urban Innovation Award at 'Cloud Cities' Forum
A delegation from Astana, Kazakhstan, recently participated in the international forum 'Cloud Cities' held in Moscow. The event, focusing on the future of BRICS cities, attracted over 13,000 participants from 30 countries. Yevgeny Glotov, Deputy Akim of the city and Chairman of the Board of AO 'Astana Innovations', led the Kazakhstani delegation.
The forum's business program featured a robotics exhibition displaying over 35 innovative models for the first time. Topics discussed included robotization, artificial intelligence, and digitalization of the urban environment. Yevgeny Glotov presented the concept of Astana as a 'platform city' during a panel session titled 'Smart City 2050: Future Scenarios'.
The Astana delegation also visited key innovative sites in Moscow to exchange experiences and find solutions for the city's digital transformation projects. The forum recognized Astana as the winner of the BRICS Urban Innovation Award 2025 in the 'Urban AI for Good' category.
The Kazakhstani delegation, led by Yevgeny Glotov and Gizat Amirgali, returned from the 'Cloud Cities' forum with valuable insights and recognition for Astana's urban innovation. The city's 'platform city' concept and achievements in urban AI have placed it at the forefront of global smart city development.
