Cathedral Transforms into Performance Venue
Get Ready for a Mind-Blowing Spectacle: LUMINISCENCE Comes to Münster!
Oh boy, Münster is in for a treat! From September 4th, the city will play host to the amazing live event named LUMINISCENCE. For the very first time in Germany, this 360° immersive experience will be held at the breathtaking St. Paul's Cathedral[1].
Originally created by LOTCHI (part of the Banijay Group), this thing is sure to blow your mind with its blend of technology, music, and history[1]. With over half a million people already experiencing it in France[1], Münster is next on the list![2]
The Lowdown on LUMINISCENCE
LUMINISCENCE is a captivating journey through the history of the cathedral, using light projections, live music performed by a choir and organ, and spellbinding narration[1]. It all happens under the watchful eyes of the magnificent structure, making it a truly unique experience you won't forget![3]
The partnership between the Bishopric of Münster and production company Brainpool Live Entertainment ensured that the content reflects the cathedral's history faithfully[4]. The technical aspects, handled by CAPE CROSS Entertainment Services, were painstakingly carried out with precision, taking into account both the architecture and acoustics[4].
A Unique Contribution to Münster's Cathedral Anniversary
LUMINISCENCE boasts a distinct character that brings the stories of significant cathedrals to life, creating an emotional atmosphere that envelops the audience[4]. Domprovost Hans-Bernd Köppen views this project as a wonderful contribution to the anniversary celebration of the Münster cathedral[4].
Tickets go on sale on June 26th, and there are scheduled performances per week until early 2026[5]. Before the show, visitors can immerse themselves in an exhibition about the history of the cathedral.
