Animest International Animation Film Festival Returns for its 20th Anniversary Edition
Get ready, animation enthusiasts! Romania's leading animation film festival, Animest, is back for its 20th anniversary edition this autumn in Bucharest.
This year's edition promises an even richer experience, with a theme centered around "the journey". Contemporary short films from around the world, including Wednesday with Goddard, Reruns, and Somewhere Down the Line, will be showcased, alongside classic favourites like Gulliver's Travels (1939) and An American Tail (1986).
The festival's curated short film programs are led by director Mihai Mitrică and French film historian Alexis Hunot. The selection spans whimsical, emotional, and political themes. Iconic music tracks, such as Pixies' Where Is My Mind and Iggy Pop's The Passenger, will accompany the films, adding an extra layer of excitement.
The Full Trip Pass offers unlimited access to all screenings, concerts, and special events. Details about the festival passes can be found on the festival's official website. Festival passes, including the Full Trip Pass, are available for purchase on Eventbook.
