China allegedly implicated in "nuclear annihilation" by the East Turkistan Government-in-Exile
The East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGE) has issued a stern warning about China's escalating nuclear capabilities and ongoing campaign of colonization, genocide, and occupation. In a statement issued on X, the ETGE marked the International Day against Nuclear Tests, expressing grave concerns over the threat this poses not only to East Turkistan but to global peace and security.
The ETGE strongly condemned China's nuclear testing program in Lop Nur and accused Beijing of continuing underground tests in the region. These activities, the ETGE alleges, endanger the local population and poison the land.
The statement solemnly honours the memory of over 750,000 people who perished due to China's nuclear testing between 1964 and 1996. The ETGE urges decisive action from the international community to halt China's "ongoing genocide, including nuclear genocide."
China currently possesses over 600 nuclear warheads and is constructing hundreds of new missile silos across East Turkistan's deserts. The ETGE claims that China's nuclear testing program has caused over a million people to suffer from cancers, birth defects, and radiation-related illnesses.
The organization accuses China of inflicting mass death and lasting destruction on East Turkistan by using it as a nuclear testing ground. The ETGE calls China's nuclear testing program a deliberate act of "nuclear genocide."
The ETGE estimates that China's nuclear testing program killed an estimated 750,000 people and left more than a million suffering from health issues due to over 47 nuclear tests, equivalent to more than 1,600 Hiroshima bombs.
In addition to these concerns, the ETGE appeals to the international community to support the East Turkistani struggle for sovereignty and independence. The organization responsible for these accusations is the East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGE).
