Düsseldorf Airport: Police Tips for Smooth Autumn Holidays

Autumn holidays are nearing, and many families in North Rhine-Westphalia are set to travel through Düsseldorf Airport. To ensure a smooth journey, the Federal Police offers essential travel tips and reminds passengers to check their docs' validity.

Firstly, arrive early at the airport to avoid stress. Familiarize yourself with the current situation and opening times of check-in counters. After checking in, proceed promptly to air security with your identification document and boarding pass ready.

At air security, bring only one hand luggage item. Remove liquids and electronic devices, and empty your pockets and outerwear before screening. For border control, have your travel documents and other required docs readily available. Remove any protective covers or objects from the docs.

Since July 2023, third-country nationals can use the EasyPASS for efficient and independent entry and exit control at Düsseldorf Airport.

From January 1, 2024, children's passports will no longer be extended. Each family member will need an ID card for EU travel or a passport for non-EU travel.

The Federal Police, responsible for airport police at Düsseldorf Airport, wishes travelers a pleasant holiday. Ensure a smooth journey by following these travel tips and checking the validity of your docs before your trip.
