Exciting, action-packed vacations featuring movies, photography, and more at the Krea Youth Club
=================================================================================
In the heart of Bergisch Gladbach, the Krea Youth Club recently concluded an exciting experiential educational trip for children and young people aged 10 to 14. This project, one of the many creative opportunities offered by the club during the summer holidays, was a resounding success, with new friendships formed, fun experiences shared, and unforgettable memories created.
Guided by Andrá Klaukien and the team from Catweasel Köln, the children were immersed in a week-long animation workshop. The Image Lab project, funded by both the city of Bergisch Gladbach and the Ministry for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Refugees, and Integration of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, transformed the Krea Youth Club into an animation studio.
The workshop saw the children creating their own short films using various animation techniques. The climax of the workshop was the presentation of these impressive short films, which showcased the creativity and hard work put in by the participants.
Alongside animation, the children also explored the world of photography. They delved into digital image editing and even experimented with old techniques like cyanotype. Fascinating blue images were created using self-made light-sensitive paper and UV light.
The trip was not all about screen time, though. The participants also climbed rope constructions, practiced archery, and completed outdoor challenges, making it a well-rounded experience.
However, it's important to note that, at the time of writing, no publicly available details about Krea Youth Club's summer holiday activities in 2025 were found. For specific information on their 2025 summer programming, it might be necessary to visit Krea Youth Club’s official website or contact them directly.
Sigrid Brenner, director of the Kreativitaetsschule Bergisch Gladbach e.V., expressed her pleasure with the results of these creative encounters. She noted that teamwork was particularly strengthened during the trip, with the children working together to bring their animation projects to life.
Experiments with mobile scanners were also conducted during the Image Lab project, offering a glimpse into the future of digital art.
In 2025, the Krea Youth Club had three projects for children and young people aged 10 to 14. A total of 48 children and young people participated in these projects, making for a vibrant and creative atmosphere.
As the summer holidays come to a close, the Krea Youth Club continues to inspire and educate, providing a platform for children and young people to explore their creativity and passions.
