Farmer's Natural Farming Revolution Boosts Profits and Inspires Village
Chaitrali Krushna Fadatare, a 42-year-old farmer from Nasrapur, Pune, is transforming agricultural practices in her village by promoting natural farming methods. After attending a training session led by Prabhakar Rao of GREEN CITY BIOTECH, she launched an agro-tourism initiative, welcoming visitors to learn about her sustainable farming techniques.
Chaitrali's journey began in 2024 when she switched from chemical-based farming to natural farming on her 35-acre land. She learned about the benefits of natural farming from Rao, who provided consultancy and technical support through GREEN CITY BIOTECH. The transition led to healthier soil and crops, making them more resilient.
She discovered that a single Desi cow could fertilize up to 20 acres of farmland, reducing costs and improving crop yield quality. By using organic alternatives like Jeevamrut, mulching, and intercropping techniques, Chaitrali eliminated the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This change resulted in significant savings and increased profitability, with Rs 1 lakh in profit from just half an acre of land.
Chaitrali's success story has inspired other farmers in Nasrapur to consider transitioning to natural farming. Through her agro-tourism initiative, she educates visitors about the differences between natural and chemical farming, offering cultural and spiritual experiences. Her dedication to promoting sustainable agriculture practices is revolutionizing farming in her village.
