Government official Nitesh Rane Declares Complimentary Modi Express Trains for Ganesh Festival Journeys from Mumbai to Konkan, During Ganeshotsav.

Minister Nitesh Rane has announced a special treat for devotees in the Konkan region this Ganeshotsav season. In a bid to double the joy, the Maharashtra BJP Minister has announced two special trains, the Ganpati Special Modi Express, running from Mumbai (Dadar Railway Station) to the Konkan region.

The Ganpati Special Modi Express trains, now in their 13th year, will depart from Dadar station, platform 14, on August 23 and 24, 2025, both at 11:00 AM. The trains are a free service for devotees, aiming to ease their travel to their hometowns to celebrate Ganeshotsav with family.

Schedule and Route:

  • On August 23, 2025, the train will stop at Ratnagiri and Kudal before terminating at Sawantwadi.
  • On August 24, 2025, the train will stop at Vaibhavwadi and Kankavali before terminating at Sawantwadi.

The return journey departs from Sawantwadi Road at 11:20 PM on the same dates, arriving at Mumbai LTT the next day around 12:30 PM.

Ticket Distribution:

  • Tickets are free but must be obtained by registering names in advance.
  • Registration and ticket bookings begin on August 17 and 18, 2025.
  • Devotees should contact their respective BJP mandal or taluka presidents (especially from Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts) for tickets.

Minister Rane emphasized that this initiative is a token of gratitude to the people of Konkan, particularly from Kankavali, Devgad, and Vaibhavwadi. Onboard facilities include free food and drinking water during the journey to ensure a comfortable trip.

This program complements a broader deployment of special Ganpati trains by Indian Railways, with dozens of additional special trains announced for this festival season. Devotees are requested to register their names with their respective mandal presidents to secure tickets.
