In the heart of Upper Franconia, Ploessberg has unveiled its newly redesigned Nativity Museum, now titled "Fascination of the Home Nativity". The museum, known globally for its hand-carved figures, has undergone a significant transformation as part of larger restructuring measures.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Siegfried Sollfrank, a member of the Ploessberg Stubenmusi, a musical group that provided accompaniment for the museum's opening. Sollfrank's contributions to the cultural scene of Ploessberg are not new, having been a part of the musical group for many years.

The move of the Nativity room, which has existed since 1975, provided the opportunity for a more profound redesign. The new museum is designed to come to life, with potential for company evenings and museum festivals, making it a vibrant addition to Ploessberg's cultural landscape.

Robert Hecht, the OWV Chairman, expressed gratitude to Manfred Kopp, Siegfried Sollfrank, and the carving group leader for their tireless efforts in the Nativity Museum project. Hecht also announced a crib tour with the OWV on December 29th, with the meeting point at 5 pm at the Horn Park.

The Plößberg Nativities are presented elegantly with modern LED lighting, adding a touch of modernity to the traditional art forms on display. However, not all news in Ploessberg is positive. An 83-year-old woman was attacked in her apartment by a stranger, who had previously entered her home, and a 74-year-old senior citizen fell while climbing in Upper Franconia and could not be secured by a safety rope.

In other news, a 73-year-old man from Schwandorf is suspected of exposing himself and masturbating in front of a family on a parking lot in Fronberg, and a video shows a man from the municipality of Eslarn abusing his Kangal dog. Residents have contacted authorities about the animal cruelty.

A Weidener, a German man with a Russian-sounding name, is experiencing harassment and is seeking to change his name, but the process is complex. Despite these challenges, Weidener remains hopeful and is determined to overcome the obstacles.

The large mechanical Nativity has parts currently being repaired due to worn wooden gear wheels, but the museum continues to attract visitors from around the world, making Ploessberg a centre of Nativity art on the edge of the Stiftland. The museum also offers space for more Nativities, and exhibits from home can be displayed, making it a platform for local artists to showcase their work.
