Multitude of festivals and activities unveiled for the 'Experience Winter in Qatar' campaign
Feeling Wintertime in Qatar: A Season of Excitement Awaits
Qatar Tourism (QT) and Qatar Airways have announced an exciting lineup of winter events and occasions called "Feeling Wintertime in Qatar." The season, which runs from January to March, promises a variety of activities, athletic events, concerts, and rewards for food, shopping, and jewellery lovers.
The Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibit will take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from February 20 to 23. The event will feature luxury watches, jewelry, and accessories from 500 brands, providing a dazzling display of opulence.
Music enthusiasts can look forward to the Disney Princess Concert at Katara Ampitheatre from January 26 to January 28. The concert will feature Broadway and West End artists, a performance by the Qatar Philharmonic Band, and is sure to be a magical experience for all ages.
The 2023 winter campaign includes Qatar Live, running from January 26 to the end of the season. This live performance series will feature local, regional, and international artists, promising a lively and entertaining atmosphere.
In addition to these events, the festival will also include live entertainment, delicious food trucks, and food stalls. The Qatar GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup 2023 will take place at Fuwairit Kite Coastline from January 31 to February 4, adding a touch of adrenaline to the winter season.
The "Feeling Wintertime in Qatar" project is a seasonal expansion of QT's central "Feel more in Qatar" brand platform. The project includes family-friendly activities, such as the third Qatar Balloon Festival, which features over 50 hot air balloons from 17 different countries and will run for the next nine days, or until January 28. Due to strong winds, hot air balloons were unable to fly, but giant illuminated kites were included instead, which will be on display daily.
Al Shaqab will host equestrian events, Hayaakum at Shaqab and Commercial Bank CHI Al Shaqab Provided by Longines 2023, from February 23 to 25. The announcement was made in a press conference at Mina Hotel and Residences.
The winter season project will conclude with Ramadan Fete, details of which will be announced later, promising a fitting end to an exciting season. The Qatar ExxonMobil Open (tennis) will be held at the same location from February 20 to 25, offering a sporty conclusion to the winter events.
As the country plans to welcome six million visitors every year by 2030, Akbar Al Baker, QT Chairman and Qatar Airways Group President, stated that the accumulation to the World Cup Qatar 2022 has introduced new opportunities, including resorts, shopping malls, public beaches, and more. Al Baker noted that Qatar has caught the focus of the world and is now one of the most popular destinations in the global tourism market.
The 12th Qatar International Food Festival will occur from March 1 to 11 at Hotel Park, showcasing the country's diverse food, beverage, and hospitality offerings. Qatar Tourism's "Shop Qatar" will be held from March 1 to 18, highlighting the country's retail, beauty, and entertainment offerings in and around popular Doha shopping malls.
