United Airlines unveils premium upgrades for upcoming Boeing 787 Dreamliner cabins
United Airlines has announced plans for a major overhaul of its in-flight cabins for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, featuring significantly improved accommodations in Business Class, along with enhanced Economy Class offerings.
In Business Class, United will introduce the Polaris Studio Suites, which offer a spacious Living Space that is 25% larger than the standard Polaris seats, complete with sliding doors and extra legroom for enhanced privacy. Each suite is equipped with an ottoman seat, allowing passengers to accommodate a companion during the flight.
Passengers will also appreciate modern amenities, such as a 27-inch 4K OLED touchscreen – the largest entertainment system in the U.S. airline industry – and Qi wireless charging pads, USB-C ports, and universal AC electrical outlets for convenient device usage. The suites also feature digital controls for lighting and seat adjustments.
To enhance the dining experience, Polaris Studio passengers will enjoy curated meal service, champagne, and an Ossetra caviar amuse-bouche. Amenities include luxury skincare products, pajamas, slippers, noise-canceling headphones, and a velvet throw pillow, in addition to playing cards and Starlink Wi-Fi for improved connectivity during the flight.
Premium Economy passengers can also expect an upgrade, with United's Premium Plus offering wireless charging and a built-in reading light for the first time. Economy Class will feature the largest screens in its class, further positioning United's Polaris Studio Suites as a top-tier product in the long-haul business class market.
The new cabins will debut on United's new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with the first aircraft expected to be delivered by the end of the year. International flights are scheduled for 2026, with San Francisco-Singapore and San Francisco-London routes among the first to offer the premium Polaris Studio Suites experience.
