New Voyager by Tui Sets Sail, Accommodating 4,000 Travelers - Sparks Controversy

In a move to expand its cruise ship fleet, TUI Travel is set to launch two new vessels: Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow. The Mein Schiff Relax, recently delivered by Fincantieri, is the latest addition to TUI Cruises, boasting a modern design, sustainability, and energy efficiency.

However, since its launch in April 2025, some passengers have expressed concerns about the insufficiency of offerings, including crowded restaurants and pools. This initial dissatisfaction, as acknowledged by TUI Cruises CEO Wybcke Meier, is attributed to teething problems, with wait times and adjustment issues for the crew and equipment.

Despite these challenges, detailed guest reviews and satisfaction ratings for the Mein Schiff Relax remain limited due to its recent debut. However, TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff fleet is known for good accessibility and attention to guest comfort.

The Mein Schiff Relax, with a gross tonnage of approximately 160,000, is a significant upgrade in scale over previous Mein Schiff vessels. While its capacity details are not yet fully publicized, it is expected to be larger due to its size, capable of accommodating almost 4000 passengers.

Overcrowding in certain restaurants, like the 24-hour bistro, and underutilization in others was observed due to passengers testing out the new offerings. TUI Cruises has been addressing these operational challenges, aiming to ensure high standards and a seamless guest experience.

Looking ahead, Tui customers can already expect to experience the lightness of the Mein Schiff Flow next summer. The Mein Schiff Flow, set to launch in 2026, will also be capable of accommodating around 4000 passengers, allowing TUI Cruises to host around 22 percent more passengers each year.

Meier reports that there is now no more negative feedback from customers on the Mein Schiff Relax, and satisfaction has returned to average levels. This expansion enables TUI Cruises to cater to a larger number of passengers, enhancing their cruise experiences with innovative technologies and sustainable practices.

What? Are you concerned about the lifestyle on the new Mein Schiff Relax? This cruise ship, despite its initial teething problems, offers a travel experience with an aim to cater to a larger number of passengers, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and guest comfort.
