Oberlin College Visit: A Weekend of Fun, Friends, and New Experiences
A visitor to Oberlin College recently enjoyed a weekend filled with fun activities and new experiences. The trip started with a comforting breakfast and ended with a lively disco night at The 'Sco.
The visitor and the author kicked off the weekend at Slow Train Cafe, where the visitor felt a sense of familiarity, as if they were back home. Later, they explored the local board game scene at Roasted Tremont, a dog-friendly cafe in Cleveland. Lunch was enjoyed at Hark, where the visitor's hometown friend connected well with the author's friends.
The group then headed to the Oberlin Farmers Market, where they bought fresh flowers and enjoyed live music. For some evening entertainment, they tried their hand at bowling at The Cat, with disco lights and loud music setting the atmosphere. A picnic in Wilder Bowl with snacks, coloring books, and a speaker was another highlight, joined by friends from Mudd and Wilder.
Despite initial worries about feeling out of place, the visitor felt at ease once they arrived at Oberlin College. Visiting friends at out-of-state schools can often be intimidating, but this trip proved to be a welcoming and enjoyable experience. The weekend concluded with a disco night at The 'Sco, filled with dancing, pool, and memorable photos.
