Reopening Tourism Routes at Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang following a three-year suspension

After a suspension of nearly three years, the Son Tra Peninsula has reopened, offering visitors a chance to explore its picturesque landscapes once again. The reopening is expected to support tourism recovery in Da Nang, a city renowned for its beautiful beaches and vibrant culture.

The management board has implemented measures to control visitor numbers and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Visitors are now able to access three designated routes: Tiên Sa - Suối Ôm - Bàn Cờ Peak, Bàn Cờ Peak - Bãi Bắc, and Bãi Bắc - Heritage Banyan Tree.

Travel agencies organizing group tours must register their itineraries, timing, and the number of guests in advance. Individual tourists will receive green cards valid for a day. Outside the designated times, barriers will be locked, and only authorized activities will be permitted.

Activities such as unauthorized filming, photography, or drone usage require approval from competent authorities. Visitors must remain on designated routes and avoid prohibited or defense areas. Tour operators are responsible for ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

The closure was due to heavy rains in October 2022 causing damage to local roads. Restoration work has been completed, ensuring traffic safety and compliance with national defense, environmental protection, forest fire prevention, and ecosystem conservation requirements.

The resumption of the Son Tra Peninsula is anticipated to attract more visitors to Da Nang, contributing to the city's tourism industry. It could also create opportunities for new tourism products.

Tourists are required to follow staff instructions during visits. The name of the tourist group or travel agency that organized the first group tours after the reopening of tourism routes on the Sơn Trà Peninsula is not publicly available.

The management board's control over visitor numbers aims to ensure a balanced approach to tourism, supporting the recovery of Da Nang's tourism industry while preserving the natural beauty of the Son Tra Peninsula. The resumption of this popular tourist destination is a significant step towards Da Nang's continued growth as a tourism hub.
