Road rage incident leads to potential eye removal surgery for victim during operation
In a shocking incident of road rage, 46-year-old Ronnie Bushway II, a resident of Vermont, has been left severely injured after an attack on Mallett's Bay Avenue near Pine Street in Winooski. According to reports, the attack occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The alleged perpetrator, Aaron Williams, from Shelburne, Vermont, was arrested at his work in Burlington following the incident. Williams is accused of tailgating Ronnie Bushway's vehicle before braking suddenly, potentially causing both cars to come in contact. He then allegedly got out of his car and assaulted Ronnie Bushway, gouging his eyes before fleeing the scene.
Ronnie Bushway has provided police with dash camera video of the attack, which has reportedly helped lead to Williams' arrest. The video footage is yet to be made public due to the ongoing investigation.
Court paperwork suggests that one of Ronnie Bushway's eyes, or possibly both, may need to be removed as a result of the assault. Tragically, Ronnie Bushway is still unable to see due to his injuries.
Aaron Williams has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated assault and maiming. He is currently being held in jail without bail.
Investigations have revealed that the incident was a random act of violence with no prior history of animosity between the two parties involved. The police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or road rage incidents to the authorities.
As the investigation continues, the community is left in shock over the senseless act of violence that has left Ronnie Bushway with life-altering injuries. Our thoughts are with him and his family during this difficult time.
