Sailing expedition commences with Bayer's vessel during the current season

Starting April 20, ships set sail for the season on Lakes Ammer and Starnberg. In the near future, you'll also have the opportunity to embark on cruises around other lakes using steamers.

Boat Travel Returns to Bavaria's Lakes

After a winter hiatus, boat service on Bavaria's lakes is resuming this April. Starting from the 20th, travelers can catch a vessel on Lake Starnberg and Lake Ammer, with more lakes to follow shortly.

For those eager to explore Lake Chiemsee, affectionately known as the "Bavarian Sea," boat trips begin on the 25th of April. Departure points include Prien/Stock, Herreninsel, Fraueninsel, Gstadt, Seebruck, Chieming, Übersee/Feldwies, Bernau/Felden.

On Lake Ammersee, the white and blue fleet will recommence service on the 20th of April. Notable vessels include the historic "MS Diessen" and the "MS Herrsching." Available departure points are Herrsching, Riederau, Dießen, Holzhausen, Utting, Breitbrunn, Schondorf, Buch, Stegen.

The schedule for Lake Tegernsee's boat service has not been officially announced yet, but it is expected to start soon. This lake, nestled amidst the scenic München Hauseberge, offers walking trails along its shoreline, such as the five-kilometer-long lakeside promenade in Bad Wiessee.

On Lake Starnberg, boat trips will also start on the 20th of April, allowing passengers to admire the Alps and famous castles like Schloss Ammerland, Schloss Possenhofen, Schloss Berg, and Schloss Garatshausen. Taking off from Starnberg, Berg, Leoni, Possenhofen, Tutzing, Ammerland, Bernried, Ambach, and Seeshaupt.

Lake Königssee, home to the pilgrimage chapel of St. Bartholomä, will kick off its season on the 20th of April as well. Electric motorboats will transport visitors to the Hirschau peninsula and the Saletalm in the Obersee. Departure points include Königssee Seelände, Kessel (for hikers only), St. Bartholomä, and Salet Obersee.
