Sheridan YMCA Launches 'Give Your Heart to a Child' Campaign to Raise $290,000

The Sheridan County YMCA is launching its annual 'Give Your Heart to a Child' campaign on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The goal is to raise over $290,000, with Fremont Toyota pledging to donate $100 for every car sold in November. The funds will support the YMCA's scholarship program, removing financial barriers for people of all ages to participate in various activities.

The Sheridan community rallied behind the campaign last year, raising $50,000. The YMCA's scholarships enable around 1,500 people to engage in health, teamwork, and community-building programs annually. YMCA employees and volunteers canvas the county each fall to secure donations for the scholarship fund. Fremont Toyota has stepped up as a significant contributor, promising to donate $100 for every car sold in November.

The scholarship program is primarily funded through community donations, with the 'Give Your Heart to a Child' campaign being a key driver. Executive Director Liz Cassiday emphasizes that scholarships are not just for children, but for people of all ages who meet the program's criteria.

The 'Give Your Heart to a Child' campaign aims to raise over $290,000, with Fremont Toyota's generous support. The funds will enable people of all ages to participate in YMCA activities, fostering health, teamwork, and community engagement. The Sheridan County YMCA encourages the community to contribute and help reach this year's ambitious goal.
