As we can see in the image there are buildings, traffic signals, windows, few people here and there, cars and sky.

SpaceX's Starlink has revolutionized global connectivity with its satellite-based Direct to Cell initiative. Launched in 2024, the service has rapidly expanded to become the world's largest 4G coverage provider, offering seamless mobile connectivity on land, at sea, and in remote areas.

Starlink's innovative approach equips each satellite with an onboard eNodeB modem, effectively turning them into cell towers in orbit. This allows the service to provide mobile connectivity to areas far beyond terrestrial coverage, bridging the gap in global connectivity where more than 50% of the world's landmass remains unserved.

The service began with text messaging in 2024 and has since expanded to include data and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity. Voice services are set to follow via mobile applications. SpaceX has obtained significant frequencies for direct communication, which could impact major mobile operators like T-Mobile.

Direct to Cell has formed partnerships with major mobile carriers across five continents, offering reciprocal global access to customers. This has not only transformed mobile communication but also driven growth in the IoT ecosystem by enabling global IoT connectivity in remote areas.

Starlink's Direct to Cell initiative has redefined the boundaries of mobile connectivity, ensuring people stay connected wherever they are. With its partnerships and global reach, the service has become a game-changer in the mobile industry, paving the way for expanded connectivity and IoT growth worldwide.
