SWISS Enhances Services and Fleet for Improved Passenger Comfort and Network Expansion
SWISS is set to enhance its services and fleet, with a focus on improving passenger comfort and expanding its network. The airline will introduce a new food service for Economy class, source fresh and local produce, and expand its Geneva services. Additionally, SWISS plans to increase its fleet size and introduce new aircraft types.
SWISS will introduce a new food service for Economy class passengers, sourcing fresh, daily, and locally from Swiss producers. This move aims to provide passengers with a more enjoyable dining experience.
The airline will also expand its Geneva services, adding 16 weekly flights to Lugano. This increase in connectivity will benefit both business and leisure travellers.
SWISS has plans to bolster its long-haul fleet with the introduction of six Boeing 777-300ERs from 2016 onwards. These aircraft will offer increased capacity and comfort for passengers.
The airline is set to increase its fleet size with the arrival of 30 new Bombardier CS100s. These aircraft will replace the existing Avro RJ100 fleet, providing improved efficiency and passenger experience.
SWISS will supplement its traditional hub concept with a new point-to-point system, starting from the 2015 summer schedules. This change will allow the airline to offer more direct flights to its passengers.
In addition to these changes, SWISS will increase seat capacity on its Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft by adopting a new seat type that offers more legroom. This will provide passengers with a more comfortable journey.
The airline will also add 19 new destinations to its Zurich-based European network. Of these, 15 will receive year-round service, while 4 will be served seasonally. This expansion will provide passengers with more travel options.
SWISS will add an Airbus A321ceo in 2016 and ten Airbus A320neos and five Airbus A321neos between 2019 and 2022. These new aircraft will further enhance the airline's fleet and service offerings.
