Three joyful, exhilarating days unfolded beneath the revered historical center

The small town of Friedelshausen came alive with joy and excitement as the Friedelshausen Support Association hosted the Lindenfest 2025 over three action-packed days.

On the opening night, Schauburg2Go from Zella-Mehlis transformed the festival hall into a summer cinema, kicking off the weekend with a screening of the comedy "The Nickname". The film, a tale of friendship, old school days, and unspoken truths, was well-received by the audience.

Saturday saw a 90s & 2000s party hosted by DJ Chris Turn, which proved popular among guests. Many dressed in period attire and danced to the biggest hits of the decades, with a discounted early entry special.

Sunday was focused on family activities, including bouncy castles, face painting, craft stands, a kids' disco with Mickey and Minnie, and a colorful supporting program. Despite a rain shower on Sunday afternoon, the festival site was filled with celebration, laughter, and dancing. The magician from Königsberg in Bavaria performed and was well-received, adding to the magical atmosphere.

The brass band of the volunteer fire brigade in Breittenburg provided traditional music on Sunday afternoon, creating a harmonious backdrop for the festivities. Ten local exhibitors participated in the small arts and crafts market, offering a variety of unique items for visitors to explore.

A crepe stand operated throughout the weekend, serving up delicious treats, while 350 sausages, eleven cakes and pastries, goulash from the goulash cannon, 440 liters of beer, and 250 Kukki cocktails were served to keep energy levels high.

The association expressed gratitude towards all helpers, supporters, cake bakers, and grill masters, without whom the event would not have been possible. They also announced that they are already looking forward to the Lindenfest 2026 with strong support from the village and the region.

For next year's event, a family-friendly movie suggestion could be "Encanto" (2021). With its colorful, joyful depiction of family and magical adventure, it would be a perfect fit for the community festival atmosphere. Plus, its vibrant music and positive messages can engage both kids and adults.
