The Sandholm Settlement, situated by the serene Zarrenthiner Kiessee near Jarmen, is a captivating new residential development that's currently under construction. Known for its picturesque surroundings and recreational opportunities, this settlement is set to offer a unique blend of waterfront living and modern comforts.

One of the standout features of Sandholm is its emphasis on waterfront properties. Many homes and properties boast direct or close access to the lake, providing residents with breathtaking views and opportunities for various water activities such as swimming, boating, and fishing.

The contemporary architecture of the settlement is another key attraction. The buildings are designed with modern aesthetics, incorporating energy-efficient construction methods and featuring underfloor heating and heat pumps to comply with the Building Energy Act standards. The houses are also aligned to ensure maximum privacy with the greatest possible openness to the lake.

Sustainability is at the forefront of Sandholm's design. The exterior walls of the houses at Sandholm settlement are made from trees, clad with Kebony wood, an eco-friendly material treated with a bio-based liquid. The wall elements are prefabricated in a factory and then assembled at the gravel pit. A green roof will provide additional cooling in hot weather, further contributing to the settlement's eco-friendly ethos.

The layout of the houses can be adjusted to certain parameters according to the owners' wishes, ensuring a personal touch to each property. An open interior space is created in the houses, providing protection from views and wind. Each house will also have its own jetty, made possible by channels driven into the shore that have created several narrow peninsulas.

Studio HONIG, a specialist in ecological wooden construction from Hamburg, is responsible for the design of these buildings. The studio is not only concerned with the comfort, functionality, and special requirements of a holiday home but also the views, water, connection to the landscape, special light, colours, and wind.

The first buildings are already taking shape, with all 57 holiday homes expected to be completed by 2027/2028. Located in one of the most beautiful regions in Germany, with clean bathing water and the Peenetal Nature Reserve nearby, the Sandholm Settlement promises to be a tranquil and picturesque retreat.

Moreover, the settlement is conveniently close to the town of Jarmen, offering easy access to shops, schools, and other everyday amenities. With its stunning lakefront location, modern architecture, and eco-friendly design, the Sandholm Settlement is set to become a sought-after destination for those seeking a peaceful and sustainable lifestyle.
